My gran is uncomfortable and coy

in the coffee shop -

my boundless enthusiasm

for patisserie, boulangerie and viennoiserie

has me screaming like a bird!

now I only see and smell in part

but one day when I’m big

I’ll take her to feast

at a sidewalk café table

with a red chequered table cloth

here in Africa!
